Summer Bike Week is Almost Here!

The CPS Wellness Department has teamed up with the Cambridge Community Development Department to offer Summer Bike Week 2020 – with NEW BIKES as participation-based prizes!

From July 6th through 10th, Summer Bike Week will be available for all CPS students JK-12 through the CPS Wellness website. This virtual bike week will be a five-lesson mini-series introducing bicycle-riding techniques, an introduction to mechanics and at-home maintenance to keep your bicycle in working condition, and lessons on rules of the road and smart safety to help you graduate from riding in parks and neighborhoods to riding throughout Cambridge.

Students who complete all assignments will be entered into a random drawing for a new bicycle. The award will be in the form of a gift credit to Cambridge Bicycle sponsored by the Cambridge Community Development Department. The winning students will also be provided with locks, helmets, and lights. Students will have until July 17th at 5PM to submit all assignments.

Are You a CRLS Student? Take the CRLS Student Bicycling Needs Survey

This survey provides CRLS teachers and the City of Cambridge important information they will use in planning safer transportation options depending on the circumstances this Fall 2020, including the possibility of providing bicycles for CRLS students. Please note that this is only a tentative planning survey designed to gauge students’ needs/interest in bicycling.
