Martial Arts

Estimadas familias,

-----------------------------------------------

Dear Families,

We had a successful Kindergarten Open House and it was exciting to see so many of our new students and families. I want to thank my ASC parents for coming to help out. I appreciated seeing you and having you join me in welcoming our new families.

I am excited to announce that Lisa Ravicz is the new FOA Treasurer! If you see Lisa, please be sure to give her your thanks. This is a very important role and she started out with a bang by joining me at the K Open House to meet parents and talk with them about FOA.

One of the things Ms. Castillo, director of our after school, and I are hoping to achieve is more collaboration between the regular school day and the after school program. This year both Ms. Annette and Mr. Swaby ran after school classes for our students. This past weekend Mr. Swaby’s Tae Kwon Do group participated in the Spring Challenge Martial Arts Tournament. Our students did amazing and ended up winning several of the competitions. We are so proud of them! Thank you Mr. Swaby!

There will be no newsletter next week as I will be enjoying New York City with our 8th graders. This is their culminating trip and we will be visiting El Museo del Barrio, El Repertorio Español, Ellis Island and other great NYC sights.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal
