Estimadas familias,

Atentamente,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Directora

-------------------------------------------------

Dear Families,

With the arrival of February, the second marking period ends. JK-5 families will be receiving the report cards next week. Middle school families will be able to access the semester grades via Aspen. Our report cards reflect the academic standards established by the Massachusetts State Frameworks and communicate the student's academic progress to be achieved at the end of the school year. Students in JK-5 will receive grades for language development and literacy in both the Spanish and English. If you have questions about the academic performance of your child, please don’t hesitate to contact their teachers.

With the hopes of improving communication between the school and home, we are piloting a new application called Remind. Remind is a private mobile messaging platform that allows teachers, parents, students, and administrators in K-12 schools to communicate with everyone at once. Messages are sent in real time to an entire class, a small group, or just one person. We can also schedule announcements in advance and attach photos and other files. With Remind we can send text messages directly to any phone, including flip phones. I share this with you so you can anticipate that you're going to get messages that look different than the ones we sent before. Also, so that you can anticipate an adjustment period on our end while we learn how to best use it.

Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal
