Options for Change

Dear Families,

We have once again started out the year on a high note with our Upper School Boys Volleyball Team winning the City-wide championship this past Wednesday! All of our volleyball players had a tremendous season and I thank Coaches Claros and Hucek for their work as well. We now have two consecutive championship wins in volleyball and one in soccer! I hope we can keep this momentum going!

On Wednesday evening, families and teachers heard from Deputy Superintendent Turk about the district’s draft proposal to improve elementary and upper school schedules. Overall, it was a very positive conversation. There are currently two draft options presented in detail on the CPSD web page. However, I am including a brief overview here of the two potential options. Both include extending the school day by 45 minutes. I encourage you to complete the Feedback Survey or to attend a Feedback Session. Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal

Estimadas familias,

Sinceramente,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero

Rindge Avenue Upper Campus Presents
Speaker Series for Parents
Friday, January 25, 2019 | 6 - 8PM
Nearly half of students in grades 7-12 reported experiencing sexual harassment in the previous year and 87% describe negative effects such as absenteeism and poor sleep. And more than ever before, socializing, exploring identity, and dating often occur between texts and social media, raising new challenges and positive opportunities. How can we as parents mentor our children to engage in healthy behaviors? How can we foster their confidence and capacity to solve problems and build their independence, while at the same time providing appropriate support and supervision as adults? If you have a child currently in grade 6-9 AND/OR this information would be beneficial for you, we invite you to join us. Participate in this interactive workshop and come away with new resources, skills and perspectives for you and your family. View the Flyer >>
