Dear Families,
If things go according to plan, the rubber surfacing of the playground will be put in place next week. This is an exciting end of project step but it means we will not have access to the main school entrance for about a week. Instead, and only during this project, students will be greeted and dismissed via the door on the Pleasant Street side of the building. I appreciate your understanding and patience during playground construction. I know we are all excited for the grand opening!!
One of the events we look forward to enjoying in the new playground is cider pressing. During CitySprouts' Annual Cider Pressing, garden staff introduce children and teachers to the school garden by setting up an apple press and teaching kids how to make cider. They would love parent/guardian volunteers to help set up, do a little crowd control, and clean up afterwards. Not to mention you will be able to enjoy fresh cider and see how much the kids love being outside in the garden. We will press cider at Amigos on October 17, 18, and 22. If interested and available to help, please contact Andrea Locke.
This coming Wednesday, September 26 from 6-8PM is our Amigos Back to School Night. Once again we will run two parent information sessions in each classroom so that families with students in multiple grade levels or classrooms have easier access to multiple teachers. The schedule for the evening will be as follows:
6 - 6:30PM: Introduction from Principal in the Gymnatorium
6:30 - 7PM: Parent Information Session 1 - In students’ homerooms
7 - 7:30PM: Parent Information Session 2 - In students’ homerooms
7:30 - 8PM: Wrap-Up, 8th Grade NYC Trip meeting in the library
We look forward to seeing you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
Principal

Estimadas Familias,
Atentamente,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
