Election Day Soup & Bake Sale
We need your help! This year, Peabody and RAUC are joining forces on a joint Election Day Bake and Soup Sale. We are looking for volunteers to set up and run the sale (multiple shifts are welcome) as well as donations of baked goods, soups, napkins, paper bowls and plates, spoons and even extra crockpots to keep soup warm. Thank you.

You can sign up to help here >>

All funds raised are designated for our Math Carnival and Literacy Week.

*If you are volunteering that day, no one is able to wear political pins or t-shirts, it violates the "150 Feet" law, which basically says no campaigning within 150 feet of a polling place. Here is the precise language:
Within 150 feet of a polling place...no person shall solicit votes for or against, or otherwise promote or oppose, any person or political party or position on a ballot question, to be voted on at the current election. No campaign material intended to influence the vote of a Voter in the ongoing election, including campaign literature, buttons, signs, and ballot stickers, may be posted, exhibited, circulated, or distributed in the polling place, in the building where it is located, on the building walls, on the premises where the building stands, or within 150 feet of an entrance door to the building. (950 CMR 53.03 (18); 54.04.22)

November is...Literacy Month!
Share a story, write a poem, tell a joke, interview a family member! Reading, writing, and talking are key literacy skills all children need. Your family is your first teacher! See more info, including engaging ideas and activities >>

Sick Day

Cambridge Public Health Flu Clinics:
Oct. 12–Nov. 9
Nasal spray vaccine will not be offered.

The Cambridge Public Health Department will be offering free flu shots (influenza vaccine) to people who live or work in Cambridge at sites throughout the city from Oct. 12 through Nov. 9.

The flu can be a serious illness, and the best way to protect yourself is to get a flu shot every year. Flu vaccine is considered safe and effective for adults and children over 6 months. While there is no charge to the public for flu shots, people with health insurance are encouraged to bring their cards with them to the clinics.
