Dear Families,
What a busy week we had here at Amigos!
Our visit with Superintendent Salim on Wednesday was very positive. He had the chance to meet with families and teachers, and spent most of the day in classrooms with students. He also joined our Instructional Leadership Team for a meeting and enjoyed “Breakfast for Lunch” in the cafeteria with the 4th and 5th graders. I hope that he will be able to join us again soon.
This week the JK and K students enjoyed a trip to Smolak Farms. It was fun to see all their pictures and stories about the trip. Clearly the apple cider, doughnuts and farm animals were a really big hit with our youngest students!
Our 6th graders also spent half of the week at Farm School. This is a wonderful event during which we work on building community and creating memories. Students learn to work on the farm and understand what it means to take care of the Earth.
The CRLS Chorus and their director, Dr. Ivan Stephanov, also visited with Ms. Hamel and the 7/8th grade chorus. The high school students led vocal exercises, explained how they train and collaborated in song with our Amigos Chorus.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero

Estimadas familias,
Atentamente,
Sarah Bartels-Marrero
