I hope everyone had a great week and that you will be joining us at our Hispanic Heritage Celebration tonight. 

This coming Wednesday, October 26, Dr. Salim will be joining us at Amigos for the day. He will be available to meet with parents briefly before school and then will spend the day visiting our classrooms and meeting with students and teachers. We are really looking forward to his visit!

This year, Amigos is going to be participating in the Cambridge Weekend Backpack Program. This program offers weekend meals and snacks to students who would benefit from receiving additional food over the weekend to meet their nutritional needs. Lillian Rater, our family liaison, will be sending home a flyer with additional information about the program, and I encourage any families who may be eligible to apply.

Espero todos hayan tenido una gran semana y que nos acompañen esta noche en la Celebración de la Herencia Hispana.

Este próximo miércoles, 26 de octubre, Dr. Salim pasará el día en Amigos. Él estará disponible para saludar a las familias brevemente antes de la escuela y luego pasará el día visitando nuestras clases y reuniéndose con estudiantes y maestros/as. ¡Anticipamos su visita! 

Este año, Amigos participará en el programa de Mochilas de Fin de Semana de Cambridge. Este programa ofrece comida y meriendas a estudiantes que se benefician de recibir comida y nutrición adicional durante el fin de semana. Lillian Rater, nuestra contacto de enlace de familias, mandará más información sobre el programa. Exhorto a las familias que sean elegibles que soliciten al programa.

Cambridge Public Health Flu Clinics: 
Oct. 12–Nov. 9
Nasal spray vaccine will not be offered.

The Cambridge Public Health Department will be offering free flu shots (influenza vaccine) to people who live or work in Cambridge at sites throughout the city from Oct. 12 through Nov. 9. 

The flu can be a serious illness, and the best way to protect yourself is to get a flu shot every year. Flu vaccine is considered safe and effective for adults and children over 6 months. While there is no charge to the public for flu shots, people with health insurance are encouraged to bring their cards with them to the clinics.
