Dear Families,
Next Friday, October 21, is our Hispanic Heritage Month Potluck! This is a wonderful event where our community comes together to celebrate our cultures while enjoying food, music and dance. There will even be a salsa class! If you are able to, please bring a dish and join us! Dinner and dancing will take place in the gym and students should not be in other areas of the building. I also ask that a parent supervise any play outside at all times.
Patrick Kantlehner (Mr. K), our health and PE teacher, is looking for individuals who would like to become after school coaches in the Amigos Afterschool Sports Program. The program takes place on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 3 - 4:30PM. The intramural sports program consists of four sessions, but coaches would not have to commit to all sports and could potentially commit to coaching one sport or even coaching one day a week. This would be a great way to connect with the students and give back to the community. You do not need to be a professional athlete or have previous coaching experience. All that is required is a passion for athletics, consistent availability, and a desire to work with youth in an athletic setting. Please let me know if you are interested!

Estimadas Familias,
El próximo viernes, 21 de octubre, se llevará a cabo nuestra cena-bufet y celebración del Mes de la Hispanidad. Este es un evento maravilloso durante el cual nuestra comunidad se une para celebrar nuestras culturas mientras disfrutamos de la comida, la música y el baile. ¡Incluso habrá una clase de salsa! Si usted puede, por favor traiga un plato y únase a nosotros. La cena y el baile se llevarán a cabo en el gimnasio de Amigos y los estudiantes no deben estar en otras partes del edificio. También les pido que cualquier juego afuera en el parque sea supervisado por un padre/madre/encargado en todo momento.
Patrick Kantlehner ( Mr. K), nuestro profesor de Salud y Educación Física, está buscando a personas quienes les gustaría ser entrenadores para el programa de deportes intramurales después de la escuela. El programa toma lugar los martes y jueves de 3 - 4:30PM. El programa consiste de cuatro sesiones pero los entrenadores no se tienen que comprometer a todos los deportes, podrían comprometerse a solo un deporte y hasta entrenar solo una vez por semana. Sería una manera muy linda de conectarse con los estudiantes y aportar a la comunidad. No es necesario ser un atleta profesional ni tener experiencia previa de entrenador. Solo se pide que le guste trabajar con los estudiantes en un ambiente atlético. Déjenme saber si le interesa.
