Welcome Back!
Dear Morse School Community,

I want to welcome back all of the returning children and families to the Morse School and extend to our new students and their families wishes for a great school year. The staff has been working very hard these past weeks and now the building and the classrooms are ready for a positive and exciting school year for all children and adults.

I am proud that the Morse School is composed of a diverse population of students from across Cambridge and across the globe. We serve the needs of our school community using a curriculum that is aligned with the Massachusetts State Frameworks, the Common Core Standards, and is infused with tenets from the Core Knowledge scope and sequence. In addition to the academic curriculum, the school follows a model of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports or PBIS. The school is a very dynamic and exciting place to learn and grow!

This August while meeting with our new Superintendent, Dr. Salim, he asked me what was I excited about for this coming year. I shared with him that I have felt a renewed energy within the staff as we plan for the upcoming school year. The Morse has a new Assistant Principal and two new curriculum coaches this year as well as several new teachers and support staff. Bringing the new staff on board, creating new leadership teams and getting to know one another while sharing the work that we do at the Morse, has given everyone a shared vision and created a positive outlook for the year ahead.

The Morse School has so much to offer families and we are fortunate to have both a good community school and school age childcare afterschool program not to mention great support from the parent group; The Friends of The Morse organization.

As always, the only way to continue with our success is to keep the communication between home and school strong. The children that we teach are our main priority and with your help and participation we can make our school community even stronger.

Respectfully,

Patricia Beggy,
Principal, Morse School
