Amigos

Dear Families,

We had a wonderful Multicultural Night on Saturday!! Upon entry all guests were given a passport and then could walk throughout the building learning about different countries from our own diverse community members. Our middle school students spoke about culture and racial experiences in the Americas and Veronica Robles from Univision sang Mariachi songs with our third and fourth graders. The 8th grade ran a silent auction and raised more money to support their trip to NYC! It was a really beautiful event and I want to thank all the families, students and staff members who helped to make it a reality!

Our kindergarten students and families also had another lovely sing-along this morning. It was well attended and it warmed my heart to see and hear everyone singing “Barquito de papel”, the unofficial song of Amigos.

A few weeks ago I wrote to you about how Amigos, like all other Cambridge Schools, will be participating in the PARCC assessment. There are a few other details I would like to share with you since the PARCC and MCAS differ in terms of total testing time and testing window. Please follow this link to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).

Have a wonderful February vacation!

Sincerely,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero

Estimadas familias,

Atentamente,

Sarah Bartels-Marrero
