Dear Families,

This was a busy week at Amigos! One of the many things we did was finish up our Response to Intervention data meetings for math and language arts. These meetings are held three times a year and allow for us to appropriately match students with the instruction, enrichment and/or intervention they need to be successful at Amigos.

The second marking period ended on January 29 and you should receive your child’s report card in the upcoming week. Upper School families should have access to final grades via Aspen over the weekend. Our report cards reflect the learning standards outlined in the Massachusetts State Frameworks and communicate student progress toward meeting end-of-year learning standards. Students will receive grades for Spanish and English language and literacy development as well.

I want to remind you that this Saturday is our first Amigos Multicultural Night! It will take place from 5 - 7PM. The Friends of Amigos, our Amigos families, and the students have worked very hard to get it ready and the Family Crests that now decorate the building are quite impressive. Over 14 different countries will be represented throughout the building and there will be food and live music in the gym.

Estimadas familias,

¡Hemos tenido una semana muy ocupada en Amigos! Una de las muchas metas que logramos fue terminar las reuniones de datos sobre Respuesta a Intervención (RTI) para las Matemáticas y las Artes del Lenguaje. Estas reuniones tienen lugar tres veces al año y nos permiten alinear apropiadamente los estudiantes con la enseñanza, enriquecimientos y/o intervenciones que ellos/ellas necesitan para ser académicamente exitosos en Amigos.

El segundo periodo de calificaciones terminó el 29 de enero. Estarán recibiendo el informe de calificaciones la próxima semana. Las familias de la escuela intermedia podrán acceder las calificaciones finales del semestre via Aspen durante el fin de semana. Nuestros informes de calificaciones reflejan los estándares académicos que establece “Massachusetts State Frameworks” y comunican el progreso académico estudiantil a ser alcanzados al final del año escolar. Los estudiantes recibirán calificaciones para el desarrollo de lenguaje y lectoescritura tanto en Español como en Inglés.

¡Les recuerdo que el sábado es nuestra primera Noche Multicultural de Amigos! Se celebrará de 5-7PM. Los miembros de Amigos de Amigos, nuestras familias y nuestros estudiantes han trabajado muy duro preparando el evento.  Los escudos de familia que decoran actualmente nuestros pasillos son muy impresionantes. Más de 14 países diferentes estarán representados por todo el edificio y habrá comida y música en vivo en el gimnasio.
