Estimadas familias,
Hoy nos reunimos en una asamblea escolar para celebrar el Mes de la Herencia Hispana. Los estudiantes y maestros disfrutamos del son de tambores, poemas, canciones y ensayos presentados por estudiantes y docentes de nuestra comunidad. ¡Fue un gran evento!
Además, durante las últimas semanas los representantes estudiantiles trabajaron en crear un nuevo Contrato Social para nuestra escuela.

• Desafía tus límites y sobrepasa tus expectativas
• Haz buenas decisiones, sé responsable
• Usa y aprecia tu bilingüismo
Usaremos el Contrato Social para apoyar las expectativas de comportamiento en toda la escuela y les invitamos a que lo discutan en casa con sus hijos/hijas.
Teniendo en mente la seguridad de todos los miembros de nuestra comunidad, les recordamos que existen baños para estudiantes y para adultos. Hay dos baños para adultos, uno en el segundo piso y otro en el sótano a lado del salón de conferencias. Por favor, también les pedimos que todo visitante se registre y obtenga un pase de visitante en la oficina.
También me gustaría anunciarles que nuestra asistente del 4to grado, Chris Baer, se jubilará el próximo 2 de noviembre. Chris ha trabajado por muchos años en varios grados en la Escuela Amigos y tuvo el honor de ver a su hija graduarse de nuestra maravillosa escuela. Si ven a Chris, por favor deséenle suerte y agradézcanle por todo el trabajo que ha hecho en apoyo de nuestros estudiantes.

Dear Families,
Today we celebrated Hispanic Heritage month with an all-school assembly. Students and staff enjoyed drumming, poems, songs and essays presented by the students and faculty in our community. It was a great event!
During the past few weeks our student representatives worked to create the new Social Contract for our building. They proposed many ideas and democratically decided on the following guidelines for our contract:
• Take responsibility for your actions
• Respect and honor our diverse community
• Push your limits and exceed expectations
• Make good decisions, be responsible
• Use and appreciate your bilingualism
We plan on using our Social Contract to support our building-wide behavior expectations and welcome you to discuss them at home with your children.
With the safety and security of all our community members in mind, please be reminded that we have designated bathrooms for students and adults. Our adult bathrooms are located on the second floor and in the basement by the conference room. We also ask that all visitors check in at the office and obtain a visitor’s pass.
I also want you to know that our 4th grade assistant Chris Baer will be retiring on November 2. Chris has been an assistant at Amigos for many years at a variety of grade levels and watched her own daughter graduate from our wonderful school. If you see Chris, please wish her well and thank her for all the work she has done to support our students.
