Getting the Word Out
On Friday afternoon, CPS was notified that the emergency road closure of Magazine Street would likely extend one week or more. Individual phone calls are being made to students currently assigned to the Magazine Street stops listed above.
To ensure that all students make it to the Pearl Street location on Monday morning, CPS safety officers will be posted on Magazine Street to redirect students and families to Pearl Street. School communities served by these bus routes are also being alerted to the change by bulk text, email and robocall. For those without internet access, details can be accessed by calling the CPS Link Line at 617.349.6514.
Students who receive door-to-door transportation service: CPS has directed SP&R van & minibus drivers to contact families directly to confirm pickup details.
Next Steps
CPS and the City of Cambridge are in close communication, and we will keep the community informed of updates. When buses are allowed to travel on Magazine Street, affected families will be notified in advance that their bus stop will be returning to its permanent location.
