Safety Update from CPS

Threat Believed to be a Hoax
Posted on 12/14/2018
Overnight, a generic bomb threat, believed to be a hoax, was posted on social media. The message urged students not to go to school. The threat did not mention the name of any specific school and was similar to a nationwide hoax that has been making the news during the past 24 hours.

Local authorities were notified and have investigated this threat in collaboration with the CPS Safety and Security department and CPS Central Administration. At this time, no evidence has been found to substantiate any threats and we are confident that it did not represent a credible threat to the community.

The safety of our students and community is our highest priority, and we will communicate as quickly as possible when situations arise related to safety. Again, at this time there is no reason to believe that this threat is credible or there is any danger to students, staff or schools.
