CPS continues to make headlines for the school's commitment to overcoming opportunity gaps.

RamonIn their April 9 story on the shortage of educators of color within New England, WBUR-Radio's Edify interviewed CPS Program Manager for Diversity Development Ramon De Jesus, along with educators and eduction experts within Cambridge and beyond.

The story included interviews with Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) students who have worked tirelessly as advocates for equity in education, starting with the hiring of more teachers of color.

Cambridge Chronicle recently highlighted another opportunity gap -- this one on the basis of gender within the tech fields.

StudentBeginning with an interview of Dina Voevodsky, the story covers the steps that CRLS is taking to encourage greater diversity and more robust offerings in computer science and coding. The story particularly focuses on efforts to prepare more young women for careers in tech fields, a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Ms. Voevodsky made an excellent spokesperson for this issue, having already made CPS proud by earning national recognition from the National Center for Women in Information Technology for her achievement and aspirations in computing.
