Message from Superintendent Salim on the Tragic Loss of a CRLS Student
Posted on 07/24/2018
Our community is devastated to learn that one of our students has passed away following an incident on Sunday night. Words cannot express the depth of our sorrow for this loss.

Principal Smith and CRLS administrators and staff have been reaching out personally to those affected by this tragedy, and grief counseling has been available at the high school today and will be again tomorrow. I would like to share a message from the Department of Human Services Programs (DHSP), who are offering additional support to members of the community, particularly to Cambridge youth. Their announcement of these supports is as follows:
We recently learned that a member of our community has tragically died following an incident Sunday night. Cambridge Youth Programs will be remembering her and providing safe and comforting space tonight, primarily focused on teens, but open to all between 6PM and 9PM at both the Moore Youth Center and Frisoli Youth Center. Staff and friends will be there for support and grief counselors will be available to talk to those in need.

Moore Youth Center - 12 Gilmore Street - 617.349.6273
Frisoli Youth Center - 61 Willow Street - 617.349.6312
On Wednesday, July 25th, grief counselors will be onsite at the high school for a second day, offering support for students from 10:30AM-1PM, and offering support to staff from 10:30-11:30AM.

During difficult times such as this, we partner with numerous agencies and organizations to support our community. I would like to express our appreciation to Cambridge Police and Emergency Responders for their support and sensitive communication with our schools and community. We also wish to express thanks to the District Attorney’s office as they continue the ongoing investigation.
