MBTA Red Line Closure November 17 – 24

The MBTA began scheduled repairs yesterday evening that will impact service through the week.

  • The Red Line will be closed from Harvard to Broadway (Boston) all day and every day today through Saturday, November 23.
  • On Sunday, November 24 the planned service closure will extend between Harvard and JFK/UMass (Boston).

Free and accessible shuttle buses will make all stops between the route with the exception of Park Street and Downtown Crossing. Check out the City of Cambridge flier here to learn more.

What does this mean for you?
We encourage you to plan for longer than average commute times, whether you are driving, taking a shuttle, or riding the bus. The closures will likely cause increased road traffic as well as reduced street parking in some areas along the shuttle route.

For additional information, visit the MBTA website.

The Kindergarten Lottery for the 2025-2026 school year will open on January 2 and close on January 31.
