Planning for the Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
Thank you to all who have contributed to the budget process over the previous months. Interim Superintendent David Murphy will present the proposed budget for the 2025-2026 school year to the School Committee this Wednesday, March 12. A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 18.

City of Cambridge Participatory Budgeting Continues
Voting for the City’s 11th annual Participatory Budgeting process (PB11) is open now through Sunday, March 16.
All Cambridge Residents age 12 and up are invited to vote for 5 out of 20 ballot projects to demonstrate their support for funding. Cambridge Public Schools will offer every student in grades 6-12 an opportunity to vote at school during the voting period.
The results will be announced at the PB11 Vote Results Party on March 20 at 6PM at Cambridge City Hall (795 Massachusetts Avenue). Learn more about the 20 ballot projects here.

Young Artists Exhibition from March 5 - 21 at the Multicultural Arts Center. The gallery is closed Monday and open Tuesday - Friday from 10AM - 6PM.
Community Iftar

All are welcome to attend the
Community Iftar. Iftar is the evening meal where Muslims break their fast after sunset during the Holy month of Ramadan. Free Halal food will be served. Space will be provided for the evening prayer (Maghrib).

Success at the State Science Olympiad
Earlier this month the CRLS Science team competed in the state Science Olympiad and earned 7th place in the state out of 67 participating schools. Special shoutout to Ivy Yao and Maya Rosen on their 1st place win in Optics, earning a medal for the for the first time in many years for CRLS. Under the leadership of co-captains Ivy Yao and Theo Maslan and science olympiad coordinators Kalle Nikula-Gill and Lucas Economou, students were supported and motivated in their hard work, with many events making significant improvement since the Harvard Invitational. The CRLS Science team placed competitively in the areas of geologic mapping, dynamic planet, forensics, Science Quiz Bowl, chemistry lab, Astronomy, and more!
CPS Librarians Share Their Expertise
The Massachusetts School Library Association (MSLA) celebrated 50 years of ensuring students have access to library programs with excellent resources and knowledgeable professionals. Cambridge Public Schools was proudly represented by CPS Library Media staff who presented their expertise to over 400 librarians from across the state at the MSLA annual conference.
