Living, Learning and Working Together
Kindergarten students learn about being a member of a community. They investigate the roles and responsibilities of people in different communities. They begin to learn about democracy by collaborating and voting to make decisions in the classroom. They read maps, globes, photographs, and other resources to describe places in their school and local community. They create maps and drawings to support their learning about geography and democracy. They deepen their understanding by reading and discussing stories about different people and places.
