The City of Cambridge, in partnership with Cambridge Public Schools, has released the Cambridge Out-of-School Time (OST) Expansion Study report. The purpose of the study, led by the Cambridge Agenda for Children Out-of-School Time and supported by the consultants WithInsight and Resonance Data Collective, is to better understand the unmet need in Cambridge by fully examining the demand for afterschool seats and the current capacity to meet that demand. The Study Report provides a road map for phased afterschool expansion in Cambridge.

CRLS InvenTeam Presents at MIT

InventTeam

Mr. Dienta, Dr. Breyer, CRLS InvenTeam, Paul Fucile(Lemelson-MIT), Edwin Marrero (Lemelson-MIT), Leigh Estabrooks (Lemelson-MIT) pose after presentations at EurekaFest at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Last week, CRLS students presented the product they invented at EurekaFest as part of their involvement in the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam program. The CRLS InvenTeam set out to invent a two-way communication and real-time tracking mechanism for boat traffic along the Charles River to minimize the risk of collisions and improve overall traffic flow. The team focused on creating a product that would mainly assist in the sport of crew. Just last week, they completed their application for a provisional patent. We are proud to have had these students represent our district, as 1 of only 8 high school teams were selected to participate nationally. Join us in congratulating the CRLS InvenTeam on their incredible work!
