Good evening CPS Community:
Excitement is growing throughout the district as we prepare for our first day of school.
Last week, we welcomed our newest teachers to the district during a three-day orientation. Educators were able to connect with one another, school and district leaders, and engage in a variety of professional learning specific to the district. We are particularly excited for this Wednesday's Colloquium; our district-wide return to school celebration with faculty and staff to align goals for the year ahead. This year’s theme is “Building Culture through Appreciation and Respect.”
Our Back-to-School webpage is available and features a checklist of things families should complete before the first day of school. This includes our annual Back-to-School forms which are available on the CPS Family Portal. If you have any questions about the return to class, your child’s school is ready to assist.
Make the most of this last week of summer, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!

Advancing Literacy - Harvard Magazine Feature
Cambridge Public Schools continues to make significant investments in student learning; emerging as a leader following improved outcomes in reading proficiency through a multi-faceted approach to our literacy program and instructional supports.
The growing focus on literacy has sparked a national discussion on how to best teach students to read. We are excited to be featured in Harvard Magazine’s story on how districts are advancing proficiency in literacy.
