Organizing Action Teams
Building Equity Bridges is supporting five Organizing Action Teams made up of youth, families, community members, and educators. Each team is supported by a skilled organizer.
Teams are taking immediate action to make change on specific topics to disrupt the BEB Barriers to Equity.
Organizing Action Team topics are:
- Build teachers awareness of the quality of their relationships with students and families of color by elevating the voices of students and families of color.
- Right to read. Shift learning and teaching style of reading education.
- Change in behavior system in middle schools.
- Create an equity subcommittee on the school committee with direct community voice.
- Develop a clear system for students, families and teachers to report incidents of racism.
- All organizing teams come together for regular convenings to build community, connection, and a sense of identity with the Building Equity Bridges Movement.
If you are interested in working with one (or more!) of these teams
