The Cambridge School Committee has launched a search for the next Superintendent of Schools to lead Cambridge Public Schools (CPS). The goal is to have a Superintendent of Schools in place on or before July 1, 2026.

- On August 11, 2025, the School Committee announced three finalist candidates:
- Lourenço Garcia, Ed.D., Assistant Superintendent, Revere, MA
- David Murphy, Interim Superintendent, Cambridge, MA
- Magaly Sanchez, Chief Family Advancement Officer, Boston, MA
- Community engagement sessions with finalists are scheduled for Thursday, September 25 | 5:30-8:30PM, see details below
- Finalist interviews are scheduled for Tuesday, September 30.
- School Committee vote is scheduled for Monday, October 6.

Community Forum with the Finalists

Each candidate will have individual 45-minute sessions to answer a series of pre-selected questions submitted by the greater Cambridge community.
5:45 - 6:30PM - Sanchez
6:45 - 7:30PM - Garcia
7:45 - 8:30PM - Murphy
Questions must be submitted in advance. All candidates will be asked the same questions to ensure a fair comparison of skills.

Public Candidate Interviews with the School Committee
