Read Across America Day, from Marjorie Berger, our Library Media Specialist:

This year our theme is patriotic with "Uncle Sam" - "I Want You To Be A Star Reader".
We will have 23 "Star" Guest Readers, one for every class.
To earn a star, the child will need to read one book or have read to them one book. The 3 stars with each child's name will be used to construct an American flag outside the gym on the bulletin board. We need 312 stars to make this 39" by 72" flag. The extra stars we will use around the border.
The kitchen is baking a red, white and blue cake for the school dessert.
"Uncle Sam", principal Watson, in full attire, will be at attention during the morning to greet and "point" at all students and teachers.
