Read Across America Day March 2, 2006
On March 2, Tobin students
reached their reading goal of 2006 books in 8 weeks! They read a
total of 2675 books. The second graders were invited to the
official unveiling
ceremony of the new Favorite Book Characters stamp at the Curious
George Bookstore. Each student received a new stamp and postcard from the U.S. Post Office to send home.
Curious George and the "Lady" with the Yellow Hat visited each
classroom to congratulate the students on their reading. Grades K
thru 4th were also visited by Zoo New England. They shared
artifacts and stories from the zoo.
