Tobin Students Pig Out on Reading! |
![]() |
On March 3, 2002, the Tobin School celebrated Read Across America Day.
The reading challenge this year was for the students and teachers of the Tobin to read 2003 books by March 3.
They reached this goal and Farmer Minor from Bristol Connecticut came with his pot-bellied pig, Daisy. Farmer Minor met with the K-8's in the auditorium for a read aloud (Daisy's favorite pig stories) and a chance for all the younger kids to pat-the-pig.
Then Mr. Watson kissed Daisy to mark that more than 2003 books were read by that day.
The students were given Reading "Hogs" to keep track of books they have read. We will kept track of books read these last seven weeks at the top of the ramp on the 2nd floor.
So thanks for reading to your child at home and adding these books to the grant total!
