Parent/Child "Keep Book" Workshop

The Kindergarten teaching team at Tobin applied for and received a Kindergarten Grant to fund a summer reading project for their families and students. They were able to purchase "Keep Books", supplies and host a small breakfast. After welcoming the parents, teachers explained the how and why of "Keep Books" and demonstrated the process of covering cereal boxes to make special "Keep Book" boxes. Each child received 16 books of his/her very own to practice beginning reading skills over the summer. Each child went home with the special books tucked in a special box.
