The third graders in Cathy Brennan's 3rd grade class visited Plimoth Plantation two times this year. We studied New England and the Wampanoag people before the pilgrims came in 1620.
We also studied the Mayflower journey of the pilgrims and their first year in the new world. We first went to Plimoth in the fall to initiate our year long study. We returned in the spring as "experts". Children all had "Pligrim identities" of actual Mayflower passengers.
We were able to meet and interview people at Plimoth and on the Mayflower about their experiences. At the Native American, Hobbanock's Homesite we learned about the Wampanoag culture.
