On November 21st, the 6th, 7th, and 8th Spanish students visited the Peabody museum (Harvard University) to learn about the celebration of El Dia de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). The museum staff offered a class on the customs behind this holiday and then students learned how to make marigold flowers and papel picado (cut paper). We all had lunch at the museum and then walked back to our beloved Tobin school. This was the culmination of an intensive project that began at school with the making of an altar and flowers, which were then displayed at the entrance of the Tobin.
