2007 - 2008
Dear Parents,
The Tobin School has developed a program that will help kids continue to learn ways to help the community be strong and safe by getting along and helping each other. We have launched a Bullying Prevention Program that is school wide and we look to you for support.
Bullying behaviors are those in which a more powerful individual (the bully) show aggressive behavior that means to cause distress and sadness to a less powerful individual (the victim). It is repeated and meant to hurt someone. There are many types of bullying behaviors. We know that as children develop, they are learning how to treat each other kindly and how to get their needs met in positive ways.
Our program will help strengthen the positive messages about how to solve problems that we know our students receive at home with you.
We hope for your involvement in enforcing the rules of the program. The rules and consequences about teasing, hitting, or otherwise hurting others are attached to this letter. We hope to acknowledge kind behaviors with recognition and rewards.
Please call if you have any further questions. We thank you for your support of our efforts to make our school a safe and positive place for everyone.
Sincerely,
The School Staff and Faculty
