Where did Tobin School get its name?

Ever wonder where the school got its name?
The Tobin School is named after John M. Tobin.
Mr. Tobin was born and raised in East Cambridge.
He spent his entire career in Cambridge starting in 1921 as a teacher at Rindge Technical High School.
We are told he was a compassionate man who had a keen sense of humor.
John M.  Tobin was:
Teacher from 1921-1928
Head Master from 1929-1935
Asst. Superintendent from 1936-1944
Superintendent from 1945-1968
Mr. Tobin died at the age of 88 in 1986
