RSTA Students Win State Competition -- Headed to Nationals

Students of Rindge School of Technical Arts competed against other students at the Massachusetts SkillsUSA competition April 29th-May 1st. SkillsUSA is an organization that gives vocational students the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership and occupational skills. Brandon Figueroa from IT won a Bronze medal for Computer Maintenance Technology, Dennis Gu from Engineering won Bronze Medal in Principals in Technology, and Gabriel Morales and Max Lewontin won gold for Video Product Development.  They created and edited a video to promote the Culinary Arts program at RSTA. Max and Gabriel said "SkillsUSA was a good experience for us. Winning wasn't as important to us as competing and meeting lots of different people from other schools." Gabriel and Max advanced to the national level where they will compete against students from around the country. "We look forward to participating at the nationals SkillsUSA conference in June." The national conference will be held in Kansas City, Missouri.
