TWO CRLS STUDENTS SELECTED FOR BROAD INSTITUTE SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
Two CRLS students have been selected to participate in a paid, lab-based summer internship (Monday through Friday, 9am - 4pm, July 7th through August 15th) at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard http://www.broad.mit.edu/outreach/education/internship.html
Rising seniors Nouran Abdelkader and Farah Kashem will work one-on-one with a scientific mentor on a project specifically designed for them. These students were selected on the basis of their application, transcript, letter of recommendation, and interview.
The summer internship program focuses on laboratory work, but interns also gain in-depth knowledge of genomic research by attending scientific seminars, discussing science in the news, and touring other labs at the Broad Institute. To complete the internship, each student presents the results of his or her research project during a scientific poster session open to the Broad community.
Congratulations to Nouran and Farah!
