UNICEF trick or treat
By Susan Moynihan
KL helps UNICEF during Halloween
This is the fourth year Kennedy-Longfellow participates in the "Trick-or-treat for Unicef" program. This year, students in grades one through six are being invited to participate, and we are distributing orange UNICEF boxes (see picture) and asking the children to collect change when they go trick or treating.

This year we are partnering with a student group from Harvard University's Unicef club. The Harvard students have promised a pizza party to the class with the highest participation rate.
The children get a great deal of satisfaction from knowing that they can help children less fortunate that they are. All money collected will be sent directly to the UNICEF. Last year more than $600 were collected in our school. For more information visit Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF.
Nov 20th update:
The grand total that we raised for UNICEF is $711.43!!! That is more than we have ever raised. Students from the Harvard University Unicef club will be bringing the pizzas, donated by Pinocchio's Pizza, to our school on Nov 20th. Pizza parties will be held on the three classes who returned ALL their boxes - Mr. Danella's 4th grade, Ms. Morgan's 6th grade advisory, and Ms. Garcia's 6th grade advisory.
