out! Haggerty Work Day
was on Saturday, April 5th. The City Sprouts garden was relocated and seed
planted for the fall harvest. The cafeteria was prepped and painted for the
impending cafeteria mural installation later this month. Many thanks to the
families who are working hard to make this school a better, brighter, and
greener place to be!

The Bamidele Dancers and Drummers

The 2005 Haggerty Winter Concert

On November 4, 2005, the fifth and sixth grades came together to spell "PEACE" on Cushing Street. Thanks to Ms. Kosko's orchestration, we have this photo and film to share!
Through the Haggerty School's REaD All Over program, Haggerty students read 2005 books during the month of May. As a special reward, several students were given the opportunity to "dunk" Dr. Petner! The ensuing hilarity is pictured on these pages.

Haggerty Celebrates Dr. Petner's Award
On Saturday, March 12 2005, Dr. Petner received an award from the Federation of Children With Special Needs, at their annual conference at the World Trade Center in Boston. This award was for outstanding leadership in inclusion. On Monday, the Haggerty communtiy gathered to show our appreciation. Here are a few photos, and a movie of us surprising Dr. Petner!

The
Sixth Grade Goes to NYC
As part of our Ancient Mesopotamia Unit, the Sixth
Grade went on a field trip to NY, and visited the Museum of Jewish Heritage,
The Irish Famine Memorial, Ground Zero, the Church Street Firehouse, and other
sites.
Here is a small set of photographs of what has been going on here this fall taken by various people in the Haggerty community. In this collection of about 60 pictures, you'll see playground fun, a visit from the Mayor and Superintendent, silent reading, a storyteller performing for us, field trips, our Halloween parade, sixth grade Mesopotamian plays, a farewell party for Ms. Gaillard, and second graders working with compost in science!

These projects came out of Units taught in the 4th and 5th grade which were incorporated into the CPS Collaborative Design Team grant program in 2003/2004.

Mrs. Cournoyer's Class visits Wolf Hollow
On March 24th 2004, Mrs. Cournoyer's Second Grade went to Wolf Hollow. Come look and see the wolves in our Web page about our trip! Ms. Farman took the pictures and our class wrote the captions.
Under the direction of Ms. Cebula, Haggerty's second Wax Museum opened to rave reviews on February 10th, 2004. Students then created these short films to express what they learned through the process.

Here are some pictures of our Holiday concert and the awarding of the Haggerty Peace Prize.
As part of this year's schoolwide Peace unit, students from all grade levels created postcards conveying messages of peace, with the help of Art teacher Karen Thompson and their teachers. The postcards were then mailed to friends, relatives, and politicians, but not before we snapped these digital pictures of them!
