Simplifying Slideshows in iMovie

Project Cool 15 March 2005 :: Kevin McGonegal

1. Select the photos you want to use and save them to your desktop.

2. Select all photos and drag them into the "tray" in iMovie. Each photo is transformed into a 5 second "clip."

3. Select all of the photos in the tray, and move them down into the "clip viewer." Here, you can rearrange the "clips" to get them into the right order.

4. Next, click on the "Audio" tab, and click the "Record" button to record your narration. your "iTunes library" will appear here as well. If you wish to have a musical backing soundtrack, drag a song down to the clip viewer.

5. Add titles by clicking on the "Titles" button, typing your titles into the text box, and then dragging the block next to the title style into your "clip viewer."

6. Finally, use the "Export" or "Share" function to save your movie as a Quicktime .mov file. You can then save that file to a disk, email it, post it on the web, etc.!

If you don't have it, download Quicktime here.
