History/Social Science Learning Expectations
Cambridge Rindge and Latin School
Grades 9-12

The core sequences for History/Social Science at CRLS is as follows:  grade 9 is World History I, followed by World History II in 10th grade, and by United States History 1877-2001 in 11th grade.  The United States History class is a requirement for graduation, and continues the study of the United States from the Constitution through Reconstruction which is studied in 8th grade.  This sequence is one of the "pathways" offered in the 2003 revision of the Massachusetts Department of Education Framework in History and Social Science.  In this configuration, MCAS testing in the discipline will take place at the end of 11th grade.
