Paula McCarthy, FOCA President, called the monthly meeting to order at 6:11 pm.

 

1)                  Introductions.

 

2)                  Minutes from the September meeting were approved.

 

3)                  Treasurer’s Report—Barbara Brammer

·                     There is still money yet to be turned in from the walkathon. 

·                     $2000 came in from the Patriots Organization for the cheerleading and football teams’ participation in half time show at a Patriots game in Foxboro

·                     Except for the jerseys bill, all football bills have been paid

·                     Some cash from the football ad book has yet to come in. It was noted that there is no proper accounting process in place for the ad book as there is a lot of cash going places but not recorded properly. 

·                     $15,000 CD is coming up for renewal.  Barbara asked for approval to keep it in CD for another 6 months.  The motion was approved. 

·                     $7,558.16 is available for grants

·                     Treasurer’s report was adopted.

 

4)                  New Business

Grants application deadline is October 27, 2006 at 5:00pm.  Maria DiClemente sent an email reminder to all coaches.

Susan Ruff will put folder in the FOCA office to collect applications from coaches.

All who attended signed up to work with two teams to encourage participation. The teams in bold did not have a parent volunteer.

5)                  Parents/Coaches/Athletes Event with Guest Speaker Dr. Greg Doyle.

Event is listed on CRLS Calendar.  Needs a catchier title to attract parents to come. 

Moana Bentin volunteered to draft a flyer and to get it out to the community during Parent Teacher conference night and to be posted at the next football home games.

Nancy Lange volunteered to contact CCTV

Paula McCarthy volunteered to contact Cambridge Chronicle
