Notes for All Parents

Eligibility: Who is eligible for transportation to school?

  • All K-6 students who must walk one mile or more to their assigned schools;

  • All 7th and 8th grade students who must walk 1.5 miles or more to their assigned schools;

  • Any K-6 student who must cross Massachusetts Avenue, Fresh Pond Parkway, McGrath Highway or Alewife Brook Parkway to get to their assigned schools;

  • Any K-6 student who must cross the railroad tracks from Binney Street to Main Street between the Kennedy-Longfellow and Fletcher-Maynard Schools; and

  • Any K-6 student who must cross the Sherman Street railroad tracks or use the Walden Square railroad underpass to get to their assigned school.
