No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Report Cards

Under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law, there is a requirement that all states and school districts in receipt of Title I assistance must issue annual “Report Cards” to families. The purpose of the report card is to give families information about their child’s school in terms of academic achievement and professional qualifications of its teachers.

Each principal sends a copy of the school’s report card to families. The report cards are also posted on the district’s web site. The information contained is divided into several parts: enrollment information, teacher qualifications and the school’s achievement on MCAS. Additional information on each of these sections is attached.

Principals are prepared to help families if they have questions about what the Report Card means. Administrators in the Offices of Student Achievement and Accountability and Title 1 are also available to answer any questions.

Student achievement is a core value of the Cambridge Public Schools. We look forward to the continued partnership of families and students in raising achievement for all students.
