Excellent Instruction in Every Classroom

Mission Statement

The Office of the Deputy Superintendent for Teaching and Learning will maintain the Cambridge Public Schools' focus on high student achievement by creating multiple and diverse opportunities for learning.  These learning opportunities will be extended to teachers, administrators, parents, paraprofessionals, substitutes, and support personnel to allow them to continually reflect on practice, focus on teaching and learning, develop leadership skills and create a self-sustaining learning community for all CPS stakeholders.

Professional Development Goals:

1. To improve student achievement by building the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of school-based and non-school based staff;

2. To provide learning resources that enhance the basic knowledge, professional development and personal growth or all personnel;

3. To recruit, train, and deploy a cadre of instructional coaches, teacher leaders, mentors and facilitators to deliver professional development and instructional services;

4. To promote collaborative relationships among all CPS staff, colleges, universities, businesses, and community members that broker resources, expand services, and enrich the work of the Office of Teaching & Learning.

The Cambridge Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to the provision of quality educational programs for all students.
CPS does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, genetic information, age or sexual orientation.
