Program Description:

CSV recruits, trains, places and supports volunteers in the Cambridge Public School system, grades K thru 12. Since 1966, CSV has been the agency designated by the CPS to provide volunteers systemwide in all grades, and in all subjects. At the elementary level, volunteers work as classroom and library aides, Intergenerational Math and Literacy tutors with 1st and 2nd graders, and as after-school homework helpers in most of the 12 elementary school Learning Centers. At CRLS, CSV places volunteers in the Tutoring Center before, during and after-school; the Drop-In Math center; and in such special programs as MCAS preparation classes, college essay writing, and preparation for the Science Olympiad.
