Modified World-Language Programs promote the acquisition of two languages in integrated environments. English Language Learners who have reached fluency and native English speakers learn two languages together while maintaining their first language. High academic standards focus on the achievement of conversational fluency in languages other than English and promote familiarity with a new culture. This type of program provides a variety of opportunities for positive cross-cultural interactions among families, students, and staff.

The Ni Hao Program promotes high academic expectations based on the additive model of bilingual education. The program offers Mandarin instruction daily to all students K-8 enrolled at the King School. In addition, Chinese students K-8 receive Mandarin or Cantonese language arts instruction and mathematics in their native language for one period a day, which ensure the maintenance of their language and culture.
The Ni Hao Program staff and parents organize schoolwide celebrations for the Chinese New Year and offer after school activities as cultural enrichment.
