Trimester System with Project Periods

8th-Biogen.jpgUpper school students enjoy a trimester system that allows greater flexibility in scheduling electives, as well as reporting on student progress three times each year. Each trimester consists of approximately 13 weeks, including a 2-3 week “project period.” During project periods, teachers have the opportunity to design and engage in work best suited to their students’ needs and interests.

Project periods allow time for students to continue studying topics in greater depth or to engage in interdisciplinary units designed for them by teachers at their campus. We anticipate project periods will be held at the end of each trimester, allowing teacher collaboration across campuses as well as citywide performances.
