Poetry Night

Poetry Night (April 28, 2011)

Thank you to our Literacy Coach Sara-Jane Rogers and our 7/8 ELA teachers Sonia Chintha for Poetry Night.  Thank you to the many students who who read poetry, most of them original poems.  Thank you to Steve and Josie Weissburg for sharing their beloved Daria with our community.  It was nice to hear about Daria's life and love of poetry, to learn that one of Daria's favorite poets was e e cummings, an Agassiz School graduate, and to hear some of Daria's poetry that she wrote as a youth.  Thank you to our emcee of the evening, Jordan Fernand.  Thank you to our teachers and staff who helped with the evening.

Thank you to parent Rochelle Thorpe.  The February Vacation Art/Essay contest winners were presented with a certificate at this morning's all-school morning meeting.  Their essays and art will become a book, thanks to Rochelle and Wigglespress.
