The first public Montessori school in Cambridge, providing a unique and dynamic choice for your child’s education.

Age Requirements:
5 yr olds 5 years old by August 31, 2009 (9/1/03-8/31/04)
4 yr olds 4 years old by August 31, 2009 (9/1/04-8/31/05)
3 yr olds 3 years old by August 31, 2009 (9/1/05-8/31/06)

Circle time at Tobin Montessori School

Classroom Configurations:
There are four classrooms of 24 students. Each classroom has a balanced number of students from the respective age groups (three-year olds, four-year olds, and five-year olds). Each classroom has a Montessori-certified teacher and a classroom assistant.

Registration:
Registration for the Montessori School is part of Kindergarten Registration in January. Please see the CPS Kindergarten Registration booklet for specific dates and times for registration.

Parents that are interested in the Montessori School should indicate the Tobin Montessori School as one of their choices* on their student’s application in the Parental/Guardian Preference for School Choice section.
*Students must be toilet trained to be eligible for the Tobin Montessori School.

Assignment Information:
Students will be assigned to the Tobin Montessori School in accordance with the Cambridge Public Schools Controlled Choice Plan. Socio-economic status (determined by eligibility for free/reduced lunch), gender and age are the main factors in the assignment process. Sibling and proximity preferences will also be considered.

Transportation:
Students 4 and 5 years of age will take the same school buses used by five-year old students throughout the district.
