Bernadette Désiré
bdesire@cpsd.us
B.A. in Business Education
M.Ed. from Cambridge College

Ms. Désiré is currently a Business Teacher at the Rindge School of Technical Arts. She graduated from Salem State College with a bachelor in Business Education and later went on to obtain her masters in Education. Ms. Désiré began her teaching career over 20 years ago at CRLS. She has served her colleagues as a representative and member of both the Grievance Committee and the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee but her most significant contribution to the CRLS community is her dedicated work as a teacher. In the past twenty years, she has taught business and social studies. Ms. Désiré’s love for teaching extends beyond her classroom. She has been the Advisor of the CRLS Haitian Club for 15 years. As the advisor she organized eight annual excursions from Boston to New York, Philadelphia, Virginia and Washington, D.C. to teach newly immigrated Haitian students about the history of the United States.

Ms. Désiré’s contribution to teaching extends beyond the CRLS community. During the summer months, Ms. Désiré often travels to Haiti, her country of origin, to organize professional development workshops for teachers in Mirebalais, a province in Haiti. In addition to investing her time, she has donated seed money to start a school and a summer camp for children in Haiti. She received many awards for her work in the field of education including the Cambridge Peace Commission Award and most recently, the CRLS Class of 2008 Exemplary Teacher Award.

Her unwavering commitment to the CRLS community and her contribution to the world outside of CRLS demonstrate that, for Ms. Désiré, teaching is not just her profession; it is her passion
