Program Courses Instructor Video		In Level 3, also an Honors Level course, students learn fundamental concepts and techniques in protein engineering and analysis. Students will embark on a year-long project which follows the track used in biotech to generate recombinant products. Beginning with a set of five yeast genes students clone the genes, express the protein products in bacteria, purify and develop assays. Ultimately, students refine and practice their laboratory skills through an internship position in a university research laboratory. Students completing Level 3 are well-suited for post-secondary educational opportunities and are attractive candidates for college laboratory work-study programs.
