Both the curriculum and the instructional strategies used at the Kennedy-Longfellow are aligned with District and State Curriculum Frameworks. Our staff works tirelessly, however, to enrich and enliven the frameworks so that they become accessible and engaging to a wide range of students. Our teachers meet in grade-level clusters (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) weekly. The resulting curriculum and instruction meet the high standards we have set for students and for teachers.
Academic Programs and Curriculum Initiatives include:
Language Arts Literacy Month (K-2); Literacy Collaborative (K-5), in partnership with Lesley University and Title I; Reading Buddies (2-3), in partnerships with the Volpe Transportation Center and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, Visiting Authors, illustrators, and storytellers.
